painter. She has exhibited in 10
one woman exhibitions, the most recent,
December-January 2008 at The Peninsula
Fine Arts Center, Newport News, Virginia.
Her painting described by Michael
Preble, Director of Exhibition at
PFAC: “Jean
Peacock’s encaustic paintings
are many things at once – lyrical,
daring, rhythmic, bold, humorous,
sentimental and audacious. Peacock
obviously loves color and all manner
of line, shape and form. Her works
have a freshness and sense of joy,
accomplishment in style and skill
in a medium that offers some very
unique challenges.”
She participated in invitational
and juried exhibitions (currently
in the TAA Portfolio Exhibition,
Courthouse Galleries, Portsmouth)
in southeastern Virginia and has
received many juror’s choice
awards as well as “Best in
Shows”. January 2009, she is
exhibiting in the juried exhibition CRUX at
The Mayer Gallery, Norfolk, and received “Best
in Show”. Her paintings are
included in private collections internationally.
Jean is currently concentrating
her energy into her encaustic painting.
She has studios in Norfolk and Portsmouth,
Virginia, and resides with her artist
husband in Olde Towne Portsmouth,
Virginia.
