Barbra grew up in Newport News and was educated at Newark School of Fine Arts in Newark, New Jersey.

Her commissioned paintings, illustrations and numerous gallery exhibitions, have kept her involved in the art world for over 30 years. Her commissions include work for Random House, numerous restaurants and designers. She has recently begun painting live at special events such as weddings and galas, capturing the festivities in a creative, stylized fashion.

She creates her paintings using acrylic that is layered on the canvas. Each layer is varnished, sanded and burnished. This process gives her work depth and enhances the texture. Barbra says she follows the shapes of the texture allowing the painting to move on it's own. "I try very hard to step back and see where the shapes fall and from there I create a sky, an abstract or a tree. I never really know. That's the joy of it all."

Barbra makes her home in Richmond overlooking beautiful Monument Avenue.
