RICHMOND CRAFT MAFIA
October 14 - November 14, 2008 |
About the Richmond Craft Mafia:
Representatives of
four major craft families gathered
to discuss business in the summer
of 2005. There was much to talk about.
The powers that be had made things
difficult for organized craft in
Richmond, Virginia. A lack of networking
outlets for independent crafty business
owners and a public under the spell
of mass production led these four
to forge a partnership. They would
become known as the Richmond Craft
Mafia...
Inspired by our Austin
namesake, the Richmond Craft Mafia
is a supportive community of like
minded artists. We provide information
as well as promotional and marketing
opportunities for independent crafty
business owners. The Richmond Craft
Mafia is currently comprised of about
a dozen craft artists, whose works
represents the full-spectrum of craft
from fiber to pottery to prints to
jewelry. The Richmond Craft Mafia
puts on two annual Indie Craft Shows:
Spring Bada-Bing and the Handmade
Holiday Trunk Show. The Richmond
Craft Mafia's jewelry designers include:
Maryellen Kim of Twist Style, Adrien
Hamilton and Kate Poroszok of Keen
Designs, Nicole Sarvay of Nicole
Sarvay Designs, Dawn Anderson of
Lark Studio and Tasha McKelvey. Join
us in "rubbin’ out the
mass produced."
