Tom Hale

Tom Hale completed his studies in Fine Art and Art History at the Ringling School of Fine Art in Sarasota, Florida, and at Bradenton College in Bradenton, Florida.

He has held one-man and group shows in Florida, North Carolina, and Virginia. His work has hung in juried competition and shows including "The International Works on Paper" at The Marsh Gallery; The Cudahy's Gallery, The Stauntion Invitational Shows, The James Center, The River Towers, and The Rentz Gallery. His work has also been represented by Brazier Fine Art, The Nichols Gallery, and one-man shows at Gallery 5800 in Richmond.

He specializes in commissions of varied subjects and large works for private and corporate clicnts, interior designers, and small companies. In Richmond, over 25 corporations and private companies include his work in their collections.

His Richmond clients include The Ethyl Corporation, Media General, The Stony Point Corporate Center, Offices at Innsbrook and Koger Center, The Martin Agency, Capital One, Capital Finance, The Fort James Corporation, Joyner Real Estate Corporation, Owens & Minor, The Shortpump Corporate Offices, and The Virginia Wildlife and Game Commission.

As an art director, he has earned recognition in every major advertising award competition at local, national and international levels, including print, television, graphic design and illustration. His work has appeared in many national trade publications, magazines, and annuals. He has also taught classes at Virginia Commonwealth University.

He had gained considerable acclaim in the publishing field as a photographer and publisher of pictorial books on Richmond and Virginia. As an independent publisher, he has produced over twenty titles for private and corporate accounts, including eight of his own works.

He was the first to produce and publish the book on "The Fan" as well as the original "Richmond, APictorial History", Petersburg, Bon Air, Virginia Beach, Maymont, Yorktown, and others.

His studios are located in the Fan district in Richmond.
