NANCY F. MIDGETTE

Watercolors

MAY 9 - JUNE 9, 2006

Nancy Midgette was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, and has lived her adult life in Chesapeake, Va. She majored in Art History at Sweet Briar College before transferring to Old Dominion University to become a Medical Technologist. She is basically self-taught with a big desire to "play in my paintbox". To paint has been her lifelong dream, and she finally got started in 1996. Over the past 10 years, she has attended numerous watercolor workshops conducted by some of the country's most talented artists. "These classes have been very helpful as well as loads of fun. My most valuable workshop, however, has been in my home studio, alone, trying to work out my problems."

"Watercolor is my medium of choice. The unpredictable outcome of the colors, blends and flow is magical. Having said this, I must admit that I am currently working in oils and this, too, brings new excitement and challenges to my world. My subjects vary from florals to still life, portraits and landscapes. I love it all!"
