Elizabeth Sawyer is a professional artist who concentrates on ceramic art and design, and has a broad knowledge of ceramic processes including glaze research, development, and testing. She earned her BA in Studio Arts at Mary Washington College, where she also studied Glaze Chemistry in the Summer following her graduation in 1998. She continued her studies in Studio Production Pottery (I-VI) at Tidewater Community College in Portsmouth, VA. In addition to serving as a Ceramics Lab Assistant at both Mary Washington College and Tidewater Community College, Elizabeth has taught art classes at the Chrysler Museum of Art and the d-ART Center in Norfolk, VA, and has been a working ceramic artist at the d'ART Center since 2001. She has participated in a variety of exhibitions and shows and has won numerous awards
