EDWARD G. CARSON
Retrospective

TCAG opened its 2006-2007 season with a tribute to one of the finest artists in Hampton Roads, Ed Carson. Ed Carson left us March of 2004, but his incredible works of art live on for future generations to enjoy. Ed was an artist's, artist. His pencil drawings are classic, his watercolors amazing, he has created great oils and acrylic paintings, superior pen & ink, silver point and colored pencil drawings. No matter what medium Ed Carson used, his results were exceptional.

Edward G. Carson, ASLA, Landscape Architect and Artist, headed the firm of CARSON DESIGN GROUP for 35 years in Norfolk, Virginia. His firm was the recipient of over 30 awards related to Landscape Architecture and Land Planning. He was a graduate of the American Landscape School, Desmoines, Iowa, and studied Engineering at Asbury College, California Polytechnic Institute, the University of West Virginia, and George Washington University. He also studied Art and Sculpture at the University of Hawaii, the National Art School and at Norfolk State College.

A native of West Virginia, Mr Carson was the recipient of over 150 awards in painting, sculpture and drawing, including ten Best-In-Show awards, throughout the east coast. His works have been accepted in juried museum shows and are included in the permanaent collections of many corporations. Mr. Carson was widely regarded as one of the Tidewater Region's best and brightest. He was proud to have served in World War II. Throughout his lifetime, he touched many lives and made many close, lifelong friends.
